Our Story

Welcome to our beautiful farm nestled in a picturesque valley, offering a serene countryside retreat. Our historic farm blends upmarket country charm with modern comfort. Luxurious decor and thoughtful touches create a welcoming ambiance. Four unique and private cottages offer guests an array of options. From romantic cozy cottages for two, or six-sleeper houses for the whole family or a group of friends to enjoy. Savour a scenic stroll through the farmlands, feed the cows, collect eggs from the chickens or dine al fresco on the private patio with your own braai under the starry night sky. Our cottages offers an idyllic escape.

Set in the prestigious, pristine and coveted Hermitage Valley of Swellendam, our farm is situated at the foothills of the famous Langeberg Mountains. The valley is fertile and verdant and has the unique feature of feeling remote and peaceful, yet being only 5 minutes away from the convenience of modern amenities and the shops and restaurants of the town of Swellendam.

Stunning collection of cottages in a very scenic location just outside of Swellendam, right up against the mountains. Close enough to have dinners in town (Swellendam has some great restaurants) but far enough to feel like you are in the countryside. The cottages are fully equipped and have everything you need though if you prefer to cook or braai. The owners are super friendly and Promise, the manager, is amazing and made sure we had everything we needed. Can't wait to visit in Summer to make use of the pool!

The four of us had a wonderful comfortable stay. Beautifully appointed fully equipped cottages. We were warm and the beds super comfortable. The friendly staff helpful and available (if needed). The Hamlet has a calm beautiful safe energy. A class of its own. We will definitely be returning.

This luxuriously appointed cottage on a working farm has magnificent views of the Langeberg. It’s situated in the Hermitage Valley close to Swellendam and the Marloth Reserve. Beautifully appointed cottage with all the amenities one could wish for . Carolyn was an excellent & engaged host with loads of ideas & relevant info about Swellendam . The mountain views & friendly cows made us feel like we had stepped back to a time when things were simpler . We really enjoyed our stay & will definitely be back .
